Duni Group Launches Verified Tool to Track Packaging Carbon Footprint
With the launch of the tool, Duni Group takes an important step forward in its climate work, using an advanced and independently verified solution to measure carbon impact – from production and business customers to end consumers. Additionally, the tool enables Duni Group to reduce emissions across the value chain, with a particular focus on Scope 3.
- Being able to measure and report the climate impact of our packaging is crucial, and doing so through a tool that has been validated by an independent party gives us and our customers the foundation to make informed decisions. Packaging is a central part of the value chain, and we aim to lead the way towards a more transparent and climate-smart industry, says Kairit Kuusik, Climate Specialist at Duni Group.
The verification enables customers to better understand and feel confident in their packaging choices by clearly demonstrating the potential carbon reduction when transitioning from fossil plastic to packaging made of paper or sugarcane fiber. Duni Group's calculations have been validated by an independent third party. By sharing knowledge and offering this tool, Duni Group aims to collaborate with customers and suppliers to reduce the climate impact across the industry, thereby creating better conditions for fact-based decisions that lead to lower emissions.
